VOYATZOGLOU Group Completes Fit-Out of Greece’s Largest Distribution & Storage Center
A landmark project for the Greek supply chain sector has recently been completed by VOYATZOGLOU Group for the well-known HELLENIC SUPERMARKETS SKLAVENITIS S.A., the largest Greek retail group with roots tracing back to 1954, deeply anchored in family values, Greek culture, and a sense of responsibility towards the community and its employees.
The project comprises the company’s new Distribution Center, with a total covered area of 75.000 sq.m., located in the Ano Fousa area, northwest of Athens. This state-of-the-art facility will replace the existing warehouses in Spata and Elefsina, consolidating all distribution operations into a single hub for stockholding and goods management, servicing the SKLAVENITIS store network throughout southern Greece.
With a capacity exceeding 85.000 pallet positions, this is the largest storage and distribution center ever built for a supermarket chain in Greece, and also ranks among the largest in Southeastern Europe.
VOYATZOGLOU Group carried out the study, design, and complete installation of Back-to-Back and Pallet Flow racking systems with Picking Tunnel for pallet management, as well as Carton Flow systems for case picking operations (a total of 400 flow levels). This was a high-specification project realized through the excellent coordination of specialized teams.
The project was delivered within the contracted timeframe of 5 months, underscoring VOYATZOGLOU Group’s commitment to quality, consistency, and reliability.
